Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport Amritsar was selected as one of the “Best Airport by Size and Region (2 to 5 million passenger per year in Asia-Pacific)” along with Chandigarh and Varanasi for providing excellent services to their customers even during the trying time.
In a tweet, Airport Authority of India (AAI) shared this information. Anuj Aggarwal, Chairman AAI lauded the winning airports for unwavering trust on passenger convenience and for offering unmatched world-class services.
The survey is done for a total of 33 passenger facilities related parameters. Questions are mainly related to facilities at the airport, security, cleanliness, hygiene, cab facility, employees’ behavior, attitude, and promptness.
As per ACI result for 2020, on a scale of 5.0, Amritsar Airport got a rating of 4.93. Due to this, the rank of Amritsar Airport moved up to 36 among all airports in the World that participated in the survey compared to last year rank of 63 worldwide.
Varanasi Airport bagged the top position amongst 22 AAI airports in the country achieving highest rating of 4.94 out of 5 and 29th rank in the World as compared to its rating of 4.80 and 49th rank in the preceding year.
ASQ is a global airport survey based on passengers’ satisfaction by taking their feedback while they are at the airport. The ACI also revealed the year 2020 ASQ rewards on its website. In a press release, it says “The COVID-19 pandemic had a dramatic impact on global passenger traffic in 2020 as well as changing customer perceptions and expectations of the airport experience. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, airports managed to collect ASQ surveys from their customers throughout the year”
According to the press release by ACI, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Varanasi were awarded as the best airports in the Asia-Pacific region for the yearly 2 to 5 million passengers category.
