Amritsar/Vancouver (FlyAmritsar Team):- The Canadian carrier, Air Canada in a reply to a tweet confirmed the resumption of its non-stop flights from India, from September 22nd 2021, but the Federal Government of Canada has not announced the same.
Giving information about resumption of flights from India, Air Canada on various replies to the Tweets, confirmed the resumption of there non-stop flights between Canada and India. However, there has been no official announcement by the Government of Canada for the same.
Air Canada has opened the booking of flights between Toronto – Delhi and Vancouver – Delhi route on its website. The airline is also starting flights between Montreal – Delhi in the winter schedule from October 31, 2021.
On April 22, 2021, The Government of Canada announced a 30 day ban all scheduled passenger and charter flights arriving into the country from India to prevent the spread of COVID-19 till May 21, 2021, which was later further extended till September 21, 2021.
According to the data available from FlightRadar24, Air Canada’s Flight AC42 from Toronto to Delhi departed for Delhi on Sunday evening i.e. 19 September, 2021 from Toronto at 10:07pm. The flight is scheduled to arrive at Delhi on 20 September at 8:20pm
Giving information about the updated testing requirements for travel to Canada from India, the airline on its website wrote, “The only accepted COVID-19 tests are an RT-PCR test or a rapid PCR test that must be taken no more than 18 hours before your departing Air Canada flight to Canada from the COVID-19 Testing Centre & Lounge across from Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Air Canada requires either of these specific tests as no other test from any other clinic within India will be accepted, even if you are connecting from a different city.”
