As the domestic air travel market continues to recover amid the COVID-19 pandemic in India, Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar is now set to directly connect Punjab with Madhya Pradesh.

The Indian national carrier, Air India is now set to launch non-stop flights between Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport, Indore from October 2nd 2021. This would be the airline’s 5th domestic and 10th route from the airport.

According to the schedule available on Air India’s website, the airline currently will be serving this route once-weekly until October 30th 2021.

The timings of this route are as follows:

Indore-Amritsar (Every Saturday)

Departure From Indore9:25
Arrival At Amritsar11:15

Amritsar-Indore (Every Sunday)

Departure From Amritsar12:15
Arrival At Indore14:05

The airline will be operating this route with its Airbus A320/21 aircraft. It could be expected that the airline may also continue to operate this route in WS2021-22 as well.

The launching of these non-stop flights between Amritsar and Indore will benefit the Punjabi community in Madhya Pardesh to travel conveniently to the holy city of Amritsar. This would also help boost the economy as well as tourism industry in both the states.

Amritsar is now directly connected with over 7 international and 10 domestic destinations, namely, London, Birmingham, Rome, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Delhi, Mumbai, Srinagar, Patna, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Nanded and Indore.
