SpiceJet Deploys A330neo Aircraft On Amritsar-Italy Routes

With an increasing demand for more direct flights between Amritsar and Milan & Rome in Italy day by day, the Indian Low Cost Carrier, SpiceJet has now deployed its leased A330neo aircraft for special charter flights between Amritsar and Italy.

With A330neo, the airline is now operating non-stop flights between Amritsar and Milan & Rome in Italy. The leased A330neo aircraft offers 18 business and 353 economy class seats.

Earlier the airline has been operating direct special charter flights between Amritsar and Milan & Rome in Italy with its leased A321 aircraft, with a short refuelling stop in Kutaisi, Georgia, since late last year. The leased A321 offered 220 economy class seats.

According to the data retrieved from FlightRadar24, SpiceJet has already operated about 16 special charter flights between Amritsar and Italy since April 2 2021 till April 19 2021, using its leased A330neo aircraft. The airline will operate more such special charter flights between Amritsar and Italy with its leased A330neo in the upcoming days.

Currently in addition to SpiceJet, The Indian national carrier, Air India is also operating 1x weekly non-stop flight between Amritsar and Rome, Italy with its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner under its Vande Bharat Mission (VBM).

Since September 2020, in total around 214 special charter flights has been operated between Amritsar and Italy by the Indian Carriers, including, SpiceJet, IndiGo and Air India till date. This includes almost equal number of departures to Italy from Amritsar and equal number of arrivals at Amritsar from Italy.

According to the schedules released by some travel agencies, about 44 more special charter flights are scheduled to operate between Amritsar and Italy between April 15 and May 31 2021 by SpiceJet, Air India and even Alitalia.
